Käykääpä Ryanairin sivuilla. Aika halpaa vai mitä? Esimerkiksi Tampereelta Lontooseen (Stansted) 30 eurolla ja Frankfurtiin (Hahn) 16 eurolla. Keski-Euroopassa Ryanair lentää vielä halvemmalla. Lontoosta tai Frankfurtista vaativat yöpymisen, koska saapuminen Tampereelta on liian myöhään. Esimerkiksi matka Tampere-Rooma-Tampere maksavaa silti kokonaisuudessaan noin kolmasosan siitä, mitä tavallisilla lentoyhtiöillä.

Tampereen ja Pohjois-Suomen, siis myös Oulun, välillä aloittaa lokakuun lopusta lentoyhtiö Söder Airlines.

Halvoilla lennoilla on merkittäviä vaikutuksia go-turismiin Euroopassa. Suomesta on monta kertaa halvempaa matkustaa ulkomaalaisiin turnauksiin kuin ennen ja toisin päin. Myös ulkomaalaisten vahvojen pelaajien matkojen sponsorointi on nyt halvempaa kuin koskaan ennen.
