Normaali käytäntö lienee, että epsilon valitaan positiiviseksi, ja mikäli halutaan lähestyä vasemmalta puolelta, merkitään epsilonin eteen miinus. Koska kuitenkin aina ε ≠ 0, niin määrittelystä "komi = 0" seuraa suoraan "komi ≠ ε": vaikkakin epsilon lähestyy rajatta komia, se ei sitä koskaan saavuta. --Bass
